fabricland ontario
Fabricland in Aurora Ontario is having a closing sale on now till the end of April. There are lots of fabrics and notions for 50% off. There are also ready-made drapery panels for 50% off. Lots of great deals!Comment by Jane Doe on March 12, 2010 at 9:31pm Hi Nancy
I used to live in Kelowna and shopped at Fabric Land...I didn't know any other sewers when I lived there....I didn't connect with on line sewers until I moved to Ontario, found sew many wonderful sewing lists......
Jane Comment by nancy rinas on March 12, 2010 at 2:18pm wow! seems lots of the ladies in Ontario are sewers!
Are there any members in B.C. I would like to hear from them. I get to go
to Kelowna and Castlegar for the fabric stores. At times I have gone to
our close U.S. town of Colville and bought fabric there. I cannot resist
Fabrics and notions..thats how stash grows. Comment by Marlene on March 10, 2010 at 7:26am Hi Katrina...I wish I lived closer...I'd love to get together with some sewists. Comment by Brandy R. Samuels on March 9, 2010 at 6:25pm Hi Katriina,
I sent you a request because I had some questions I wanted to ask you about fabrics up there and few other things. All related to sewing ! You know we have to stich together with our sewing illness lol Comment by Katriina Alanko on March 9, 2010 at 4:39pm Hi, group!
I'm looking to hook up with like-minded bodies from the Orillia area in Ontario. It would be wonderful to just get together for a cuppa and get to know one another. If that appeals to you - drop me a line. Comment by nancy rinas on March 5, 2010 at 2:40pm Sewing is an addiction as my overflowing sewing room proves.I am a Gemini that constantly wants to do something new. Anyone of the talented ladies out there doing or done the toothbrush rugs?I live in an area thats out of the way and hard to get info or supplies. Will head to a bigger city this month to stock up. "we are never to old to learn" Comment by Linda on September 16, 2009 at 3:30pm Katrina, I find this very frustrating also. A year ago I moved from suburban Montreal to rural Ontario (between Smiths Falls & Perth) and although there are several quilting shops in the area there is only one shop (Perth) that carries general purpose fabrics, but not a large selection. The nearest Fabriclands are in Kanata (45 mins) and Kingston (1 hr +). I plan my fabric/notion shopping for the times I must go to Kanata or Kingston. I don't like to shop for fabrics online; not touchy feely enough. Comment by Katriina Alanko on September 16, 2009 at 11:45am I live in Gravenhurst, Ontario. The only source for fabric that I have found is a Fabricland in Orillia (45 min. drive) and one in Huntsville ( 1 hr. drive ) and a few quilting shops. I wonder how others in this situation deal with finding quality fabric for garments. The only other option I've come across is to order online and that's not satisfactory for feeling the hand of the fabric. It's really frustrating. Comment by Warna on July 2, 2009 at 4:42am Thank you Mary. I was at Bayers Road last year. Although they are not part of Fabricland here in Ontario they allowed me to use my membership card for a discount. Very nice people and well worth a revisit. Comment by Jill Dewar on June 29, 2009 at 1:17pm Warna, lucky you going to Halifax - it is one of my favourite places! Glad you asked for the fabric store info - I am going to try to get to them the next time I go down. Thanks to Mary & the Editor too!
