ratchet and clank 3 cheat

There is nothing quite like ripping through villainous hordes with some radical weaponry. With the right tools, it’s like nothing in the world can harm you. There is, oftentimes, an accompanying sense of superhuman strength; a comfort only afforded to those who can bend steel or level entire city blocks with a wink and a nod. While this can facilitate an arrogant demeanor built on a faux feeling of invulnerability, there are certain weapons that will give you a serious edge on the competition. A guns-blazing approach to combat isn’t always a bad thing, but you’ve got to have the appropriate armaments. An army of cyborg pachyderms, you say? Hand me a chain gun; I’ll shred those suckers.

Style is a partial consideration. If you’re gonna kick ass, you would presumably prefer to look cool in the act. By and large, though, you simply want an efficient weapon that will get the job done. The triple-barreled Hydra shotgun of Resident Evil 5 fame is a bit of an awkward piece, but it rips through infected villagers like the Kool-Aid Man through a brick wall.

Over the years, I’ve gathered some of my favorite video games weapons onto a single list of unrivaled awesomeness. Some have been chosen for raw firepower, while others earned their spots through unique and clever design. This isn’t a comprehensive list, mind you, but merely a peek at my choice picks based on personal experience. When the zombie apocalypse finally comes, I want to hole up with these 10 beauts:

1) Megaton Hammer (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)

The quintessential Hylian headache machine, the Megaton Hammer is the prized item of Goron lore hidden in the Fire Temple. In Ocarina of Time, Link uses it to defeat the dreaded Volvagia, a serpentine, subterranean lava dragon resurrected by Ganondorf as punishment to the Gorons. With his people imprisoned and scheduled to be entrees for the fire-breathing mythical creature, Darunia, the altruistic Goron patriarch, faces Volvagia without the revered hammer, but proves to be no match for the fearsome foe. He does, however, stall for time, which allows Link to reach Volvagia’s lair with the legendary hammer.

2) Rift Inducer (Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal)

This is the first Ratchet & Clank weapon to make the cut, but it certainly won’t be the last. Insomniac Games’ wacky gadgets eat up five spots on this list, but the Rift Inducer is my favorite of the bunch. It is without doubt one of the coolest video game weapons ever created. It wins points for creativity, style, power and utility. The Rift Inducer’s form factor is quite striking, and its ammunition is extremely unique. The Rift Inducer does exactly what its name suggests: creates wormholes that swallow ambient enemies. It becomes even more powerful when upgraded to the Rift Ripper, which also deals electrical damage.

3) Hard Knuckle (Mega Man 3)

I bet you didn’t expect to see this one make an appearance, let alone in the third slot. The Mega Man franchise is known more for its ridiculous Robot Masters than its litany of obtainable powers, but I gotta give props to the Hard Knuckle, which, despite its admittedly absurd purveyor, is incredibly useful. With the Hard Knuckle, you sacrifice rate of fire for damage, but the trade-off is well worth it. These missile-like blue gloves devastate many enemies, from lowly underlings to larger grunts, as well as numerous Robot Masters and Fortress bosses.

4) R.Y.N.O. (Ratchet & Clank)

The acronym stands for “Rip You a New One.” The moniker is far more appropriate that non-Ratchet players can possibly imagine. The R.Y.N.O. is essentially a portable harbinger of death. It vaporizes nearly any target foolish enough to stand in opposition. Even massive bosses crumble under the might of the R.Y.N.O. This beast doesn’t take prisoners; it simply destroys without prejudice. The R.Y.N.O. takes a lot of challenge out of the game, but you’ve definitely got to work for it. Those bolts don’t collect themselves.

5) Auger Mark II (Resistance 2)

An Insomniac creation not of the Ratchet & Clank universe, the Auger Mark II is a bit closer to reality, though still has a mean science-fiction hook. In basic terms, it shoots through walls and other solid structures. Unlike the original Auger, the Mark II will actually display enemy outlines, which means that you’re never forced to fire with reckless disregard for ammo. What’s more, the secondary fire will create a temporary barrier against enemy fire – except, of course, fire from enemy Augers. The Chimeran Steelheads are bears to deal with, but they certainly have good taste in weaponry.

After working on two full adventures and one downloadable mini-adventure, I’m extremely excited to help bring Ratchet & Clank to the comic book world. Over the years, we at Insomniac have watched like doting parents as the Ratchet & Clank mythology grew from a few small planets in the Solana Galaxy to a living, breathing universe full of fun characters and exotic alien worlds.

It’s a universe that thrives on impossible weaponry and massive amounts of destruction while somehow managing to keep its sense of humor. How we came across that formula, I couldn’t tell you (though I suspect Chief Creative Officer Brian Hastings has it under lock and key in his desk), but the result is a heart-felt mythology that somehow manages to bring out the kid in all of us – even when it’s our pen on the paper.

With that in mind, I’d like to thank you, the readers, for allowing me to bring Ratchet & Clank out for another adventure. Thank you for allowing me to give Captain Qwark the worst job a failed superhero and actor could ever have. And above all, thank you for letting me be a kid again. Hope you enjoy the comic!

Make sure you contact your local comic book shop to let them know you’re interested in picking up your copy when it releases! Keep an out here on the PlayStation.Blog for more info on the Digital Comic.
